Remote worker check-in and automated safeguarding tool
When monitoring lone workers on remote sites, companies have traditionally relied on workers to manually send an SMS or make a phone call to confirm their safety. This is prone to human error since they can forget to check in, or the team can fail to follow up missed check-ins, which could prove fatal in the result of an accident.
As part of a large-scale multi-year project, we developed a system for safeguarding lone workers by leveraging automated voice calls for routine check-ins to verify their wellbeing. In the event of an accident, an automatic emergency conference call is created to ascertain the worker’s situation and send help. An intuitive dashboard integrated with Google Maps displays their location and check-in status in real-time.
Our bespoke technology and scalable cloud infrastructure has given the organisation peace of mind when it comes to safeguarding their remote staff. The system can function internationally, removing the need for having a 24/7 call centre due to time-zone differences, resulting in massive cost savings and eliminating blockers to growth. Lone workers can be confident that they are only one phone call away from assistance, thanks to automatic escalation and geolocation if they are injured or unable to check-in.
Safeguarding tool
A cloud-based service receives the lone worker’s details and automatically verifies their phone number with a voice call. It then schedules regular automated check-in calls which ask the worker if they are safe or need assistance. It is resilient to missed calls or voicemail, retrying a number of times if the worker fails to answer.
Audit trail asset tracking
Back at HQ, the team can search for and monitor remote staff using the real-time dashboard. GPS updates from the tablet app provide on-site visibility throughout the day, creating an audit trail of their location history. For lone workers, the automated voice calls are recorded, logged and updated with their responses as they happen.
