Are you a startup with a disruptive tech vision? Or an established business looking to amplify a competitive edge? Then you know it’s important to validate ideas as early as possible when developing custom software.
Can you develop my custom software/MVP?
Absolutely! We can help you get the right 'market fit' by developing custom software step-by-step. We also develop 'minimum viable products' (MVPs). MVPs capture early adopters’ feedback and tighten the feedback loop, producing better software.

How quickly can you develop my software?
We often deliver a software prototype within the first few weeks.
Following both Lean and Agile means we can evolve your software as you gather feedback. That way, we develop the software based on your early adopters' feedback, giving you a competitive edge. This step-by-step innovation allows you to develop your software with a better product-market fit.
How do I know I've got the right software idea?
Testing and more testing! Focus groups, alpha testing, and feedback from early adopters are all essential. Our process is designed to make sure responding to feedback is as easy as possible.
By organising the vision into “phases”, we develop custom software step-by-step. Every phase in our software road map will focus on delivering working, testable software. Each new phase will steer us closer to a product-market fit via user feedback.
How can I secure my competitive edge?
If you want to stay ahead of your competitors, you can refine your software through continuous innovation. Generally, custom software will require maintenance to stay up-to-date and secure. But the best way to stay at the cutting-edge is with regular updates and developing new innovations.
How do I define my MVP before developing my custom software?
Develop lean software with us
We've been practicing Lean methodology since we started in 2013. Since then, we’ve been developing custom software for startups and small businesses all over the UK. We organise software projects into ‘phases’, with the first few phases focused on MVP development.
Get ready to build-measure-learn
Closing the feedback loop makes sure we're developing the right software for the right people. That means responding to market feedback is the key to developing custom software. Releasing software early and often is essential when it comes to finding the right product-market fit.
Develop better custom software with data-driven decisions
You can make data-driven decisions about your software by investing in in-app analytics. Meaningful metrics help us measure user behaviour and refine your software for a better user experience. A better UX means higher engagement and a faster return on investment.

- How much does developing an MVP cost?
- Can you be our chief technology officer (CTO)?
Each MVP varies in size, so we charge a standard daily rate for custom software development services. We provide close estimates before starting work, which can be updated as your software evolves.
It’s smart to include monetisation as early as possible in order to plan for a ROI. The cost of custom software comes from the features you build and the changes you make. Focusing on an early return means sustainable/continuous software development.
Although minimal at the MVP stage, you may want to consider hosting and maintenance costs. Another thing to consider the ongoing cost of integrations. We can provide realistic estimates (without markup) for this where needed.
We do offer a consultancy-based service called Virtual CTO (vCTO). Through this service, we provide software consultancy on an ad hoc or retained basis. We can advise on best-practices in software product development, continuous innovation, etc. We can even attend stakeholder meetings as a technical advisor.
- Will you develop software for equity/shares?
- What makes Codevate different?
- Will my business & software ideas stay confidential?
We’re open to coming on board for equity on the right software project. As long as you have a strong business plan, we're open to conversations about equity or profit share. However, we can’t work on a 100% shares basis. We’ll always need cash flow for a project in order to keep the bills paid and the lights on!
Since 2013, we've maintained a 100% project completion rate (compared to an industry average of 25%). We utilise both Lean and Agile principles, and all of our staff are full-time and UK-based (no outsourcing!)
We're always happy to sign non-disclosure agreements and protect your trade secrets as if they were our own.
